How the trial works
- Pick a plan. On the pricing page, choose monthly, 1-year or 3-year. The next screen shows the plan, the 7 free days and the date of your first payment before you enter anything.
- Save a card. Stripe, our payment provider, holds the card. Nothing is charged when you save it, and the trial starts as soon as it is saved.
- Install the apps and sign in. Use the same account on Windows, Mac, iPhone and iPad, Android and Google TV. Up to 10 devices can be connected at once.
When the trial ends
If you keep GhostShield VPN, the plan you picked starts and your card is charged once for it:
- Monthly: $6.99 a month, cancel at any time.
- 1-year: $59.88 for the year ($4.99 a month).
- 3-year: $143.64 for three years ($3.99 a month).
We email you one to three days before the trial ends, so the charge never comes as a surprise. After the first payment you still have a 30-day money-back guarantee: email info@ghostshield.ai within 30 days for a full refund.
How to cancel
Sign in at ghostshield.ai, open your Profile page, press Cancel plan and then Confirm cancel. Do it before the date shown as Next Billing and you are not charged. Deleting the app does not cancel the trial. If you subscribed through the App Store on an iPhone or iPad, Apple bills it, so you cancel it in your Apple Account subscriptions instead.
Why we ask for a card
It keeps the trial to one per person: each card and each account can start one free trial. It also means your protection carries on without a gap if you decide to stay. A card on file is not a hidden charge: the price after the trial is on the pricing page, the payment date is shown before you save the card, and the reminder email arrives before anything is charged.
What to test during the trial
A trial is only useful if you use it the way you will use the VPN every day. A simple plan:
- First day: every device you own. Install the app on your phone, laptop and TV and check that each one connects. Then open the what-is-my-IP tool: it should show the server's location, not yours.
- Your streaming services. Try the shows you actually watch, on the TV itself. No VPN can promise that every service works every time, so let your own results decide.
- Public Wi-Fi. Use it at a café, a hotel or an airport, the places a VPN is for.
- Speed. Run the speed test with the VPN off and then on. Some slowdown is normal; video calls that stutter are not.
- Two days before the end: decide. Keep it, or cancel from your Profile page.
What the trial includes, and what it does not
The trial is the full product: WireGuard with ChaCha20-Poly1305 encryption, a strict no-logs policy, the kill switch, every server location and up to 10 devices. Before you rely on it, know the limits:
- There are no apps for Fire TV, Apple TV, Roku or games consoles. Linux and routers need a manual WireGuard setup.
- GhostShield VPN uses standard WireGuard without an obfuscation layer, so it is not reliable in China, Russia, Iran or the UAE, where networks block VPN traffic. Read the China guide before you travel there.

Do I need a card for the free trial?

When is my card charged?
