Unblock Apps and Websites
Unblocked apps and websites start with a VPN: it sends everything your device does through an encrypted tunnel to a server in another country, so the Wi-Fi or the country doing the blocking sees only that one connection. Pick an app below for its setup steps and the server location to use.

Questions
Unblocked Apps, Explained
What apps can unblock websites?
A VPN app is the one that unblocks every website and app on a device at once, because it carries all of the device's traffic, not only the browser's. A proxy site or a browser extension only opens pages in that one browser, and video and logins often break through it. GhostShield has apps for Windows, macOS, Android, iPhone and iPad, and Google TV.
How can I access blocked websites?
Try these in order. If the block is on the Wi-Fi you are using, switch to your phone's mobile data. Connect a VPN on a device you own and pick a server in a country where the site is open. For a single article blocked by its address, a web archive copy sometimes works, but nothing you log in to will.
Why are apps and websites blocked?
Workplaces, hotels and public Wi-Fi block whole categories such as social media, streaming and messaging, to save bandwidth or keep people on task. Some countries block services outright, and some services, like streaming catalogues, only open in certain countries. Each guide above says where its app is blocked.
Is it legal to unblock apps with a VPN?
In most countries using a VPN is legal, and getting around a network's rules is a matter of that workplace's or school's policy rather than the law. A few countries restrict VPNs or punish using one to reach blocked sites; our country guides say what the law is in each.
Does a VPN unblock apps everywhere?
No. GhostShield uses standard WireGuard with no obfuscation, so a network that blocks WireGuard itself stops it, and it is not reliable in China, Russia, Iran or the UAE. On a device your employer manages, the VPN app may be blocked or visible to IT. The 7-day free trial (a card is required) lets you check your own connection before you pay.
